Vivaldi en Voyage

Château de France

Concert – July 16, 2024

in Léognan  – 20:30.

Baroque’n’roll : a musical and virtuoso journey through 17th and
18th century Europe. Evoking the improvisatory spirit that guides this musical experience, from Italy to Great Britain, this program presents the music of great Baroque composers such as Vivaldi and Handel, as well as virtuoso Italian violinists such as Francesco Geminiani and Nicola Matteis, who eventually settled in London.
Throughout the journey, Italian music was infused with musical elements from the countries it passed through, notably France, Germany, England, Scotland and so on.

Francesco Geminiani – The Last Time I Came O’er The Moor

François Couperin – Les Barricades Mystérieuses, Le Tic Toc Choc

Greensleeves (traditional) – When she cam ben, she bobbit (John McLachlan) – There’s three good fellows ayont yon glen (William McGibbon)
James Oswald – A Sonata of Scots Tunes
