The summer academy welcomes young professionals and students from conservatories and music schools.

We are offering a traditional interactive offline instruction on site at the Moulerens vacation village (10 minutes from Bordeaux, France).

  • Open Access to concerts of Musique en Graves festival

    All lessons are open, which means that any registered student may view them.

    OPTIONAL MUSIC WORKSHOPS

    Chamber music :
    Various chamber music ensembles for students with a minimum  level of a pre-college program.

    Orchestra excerpts :

    Taught by seasoned professionals, this workshop is designed to cater to both aspiring orchestral musicians, and young professionals preparing for orchestra auditions. This workshop can be taken as a comprehensive course with no obligation to register for private lessons.

    Introduction to baroque music

    The mechanics of music have changed over time, following the natural development of any living language. In this course, students will explore the basics of historical performance practices, including notation, ornamentation, and general 17th and 18th century musical aesthetics.

    THE PLACE OF OUR MUSIC ACADEMY IN FRANCE

    Château de Moulerens, 2 Rue de Pichey – 33170 GRADIGNAN, FRANCE

     

    Situated in a large park, 10km from Bordeaux, the Château De Moulerens offers a favorable place for practice, study and live. Student with full board get individual rooms with private bath, three meals a day, access to a gym, tennis court, soccer field, and an Olympic swimming pool. 

    Minors (-18) are supervised by a team of professional counselors.

    PRATICAL DETAILS 

     

    ARRIVAL :

    A BUS will be available from the main train station : Saint-Jean de Bordeaux July 20, 2024 at 15:15. The bus will leave from the station around 15:15. Please send us your departure and arrival information no later than June 20, 2024.

    Students arriving by AIR will be greeted at the airport by our team and taken by car.

    If you arrive by CAR, please let us know by email when you plan to arrive. Students will receive an email with the hosts’ contacts.

    DEPARTURE :

    A bus will leave Moulerens for the Saint-Jean train station in Bordeaux on July 27 2024 at 9:30 am – plan to pick up train tickets at 11 am. Students leaving by plane will be accompanied to the airport by our volunteers in private cars.

     

    ACCOMODATIONS : 

    Single room. A building of 36 rooms of 20 m². Simple, welcoming and comfortable rooms with views of the forest. You will find a complete comfort : the rooms are all equipped with private showers and toilets, bedding furniture, a wardrobe, a desk and a flat-screen TV.

    Bedding is provided but students are asked to make their beds. Bring a toilet bag and towel. On the day of departure the linen must be placed in the trolleys provided for this purpose.

    Self-Service Restoration.

    * Room keys that are not returned will incur a fee of 30€. Please keep the rooms clean and respectful of the staff in charge of receiving the rooms. A fee of 50€ may occur for additional cleaning service if deemed necessary by the staff.

    INSURANCE :

    Students must be fully covered by insurance, including health and instrument insurance.

    Each student must bring a music stand, scores, and concert attire (black pants or skirt, black shoes, white shirt).
