Born in Bordeaux, he began his career as a pianist at the age of eight and became a laureate of several competitions at a very young age, including the International Competition of Arcachon and the one of the city of Paris. He then performed on many French stages, notably in the largest Parisian venues such as the Théâtre des Champs Elysées and the Salle Pleyel, as well as in the magnificent Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux, a venue he is particularly fond of. Vincent is a graduate of the Bordeaux Conservatory and of the famous Siena Academy in Italy, “La Chiagiana”.
In 2003, he graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with a first prize in piano and chamber music after studying with Nicholas Angelich, Christian Ivaldi and Alain Meunier. He successfully started writing and conducting. In 2004, he moved to New York to study at the Juilliard School where he graduated with a Master degree in piano from Jerome Lowenthal.
He was invited by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra for several concerts in the famous “Orpheum theater”, and was unanimously acclaimed by the press and the public. Vincent Balse received the city’s highest honor from the mayor for his involvement in the community. He then recorded his first solo album and performed throughout the United States.
For over ten years, his performances have taken him to the four corners of the world, with exceptional concerts in Soweto, Tel Aviv and Alaska… Recognized by his peers, he has recently performed with violinist Maxim Vengerov, the Fine Arts Quartet, Maestro Rostropovich and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis.
Passionate musician and brilliant teacher, Vincent teaches at the CNSM of Lyon and at the University Jean Moulin Lyon 3. For the past few years, he has been dividing his life between Paris, Lyon and New York, and has been exporting his art all over the world with an overflowing energy.

Lauréat de plusieurs concours dont le Concours International d’Arcachon (1999) et celui de la ville de Paris (1994), Vincent Balse a débuté sa carrière à l’âge de huit ans. Etant très apprécié, il est devenu rapidement un pianiste très recherché. Il s’est produit sur de nombreuses scènes françaises et européennes : dans les plus grandes salles parisiennes (Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Salle Pleyel, Salle Cortot), mais également sur l’ensemble du territoire et notamment au Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux, ville d’où il est originaire. Il s’est également produit à plusieurs reprises en Espagne (Saint-Sébastien, Tarragone, Malaga, Barcelone), en Italie (Brescia, Sienne), en Angleterre (Londres) ainsi qu’en Belgique (Dinant). Depuis quelques années, il a entamé sa carrière au Japon (Tiarakoto Hall de Tokyo et Culport Hall à Kochi) ainsi qu’outre-atlantique, dans les villes de New York, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, et La Nouvelle Orléans. Vincent Balse s’est distingué en recevant les honneurs du maire de la ville pour sa performance avec l’orchestre « Louisiana Philarmonic Orchestra » dans le fameux « Orpheum theater ». Il y est régulièrement invité pour donner des master classes (Nocca, Dillard university, Bimsi).
Plus récemment on a pu l’entendre jouer aux côtés du violoniste Maxim Vengerov, du Fine Arts Quartet ainsi que du trompetiste Wynton Marsalis. La discographie de Vincent Balse comporte notamment un premier album solo enregisté aux Etats- Unis en 2002 ainsi qu’un disque avec le saxophoniste Julien Petit, La Escapada, sorti et distribué par Lyrinx en 2005. Chambriste reconnu, il fait partie du groupe « Langage Tango » dont le deuxième album, La Ventana, vient de paraître. Musicien passionné et brillant pédagogue, Vincent Balse a été professeur au Luzerne Music Center dans l’état de New York et enseigne depuis trois ans aux Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves. Un Album enregistré avec la violoniste canadienne Susanne Hou, Fantasy, est disponible depuis l’été 2007. Pianiste dès son plus jeune âge, Vincent Balse fut formé par Zoya Zorin. Il est diplômé de l’académie de Sienne en Italie ainsi que du conservatoire de Bordeaux où il obtient une médaille d’or avec félicitations du jury ainsi qu’un premier prix de musique de chambre. En 2002, c’est avec un premier prix de piano et de musique de chambre qu’il sort du Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris après avoir étudié avec Nicholas Angelich, Christian Ivaldi et Alain Meunier. Il y étudie également l’écriture et la direction d’orchestre. Depuis quelques années, Vincent Balse partage sa vie entre Paris et New York où il est sorti diplômé de la Juilliard School avec un Master’s degree (troisième cycle) dans la classe de piano de Jerome Lowenthal.
