MUSIC ACADEMY

MUSIC ACADEMY – JULY 19 – 26,  2026 – near Bordeaux, France

We invite you to join us this summer at the Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves, a one-week academy and festival that brings together talented young musicians and internationally recognized artists in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region.

You’ll enjoy an inspiring mix of artistic excellence and cultural exchange — study, rehearse, and perform in a warm, supportive environment that celebrates both music and friendship.

The summer academy welcomes young professionals and students from conservatories and music schools.

We are offering a traditional interactive offline instruction on site at the Moulerens vacation village (15 minutes from Bordeaux, France).

 

The Academy Experience

  • 4 private lessons of 60 min each
  • Optional workshops : chamber music, baroque interpretation, jazz & improvisation, and stage acting for musicians
  • Public performance opportunity for all students registered in the Young Artist Program
  • Open Access to concerts of Musique en Graves festival

All lessons and rehearsals are open to the public

 

Fellow Program

Outstanding participants may be selected through audition for the Fellow Program, offering the opportunity to perform alongside faculty artists in the festival’s ticketed concerts.

This prestigious program provides exceptional professional experience and exposure, allowing young musicians to take the next step toward their artistic careers.

The mechanics of music have changed over time, following the natural development of any living language. In this course, students will explore the basics of historical performance practices, including notation, ornamentation, and general 17th and 18th century musical aesthetics.

Stage Acting for the Musician  –  Free Workshop 

Professeur :  Zoe Deveaux

Acting for the Musician, is a masterclass for musicians on stage presence. Derived from the actor’s toolbox, musicians will explore various acting methods, exercises and improvisational techniques that will reshape their sensations on stage.
Both music and theater drive emotions and tell a story, through self-exploration and play, this course aims to help musicians develop greater expressiveness and authenticity, all while having fun!  

 

THE PLACE OF OUR MUSIC ACADEMY IN FRANCE

Château de Moulerens, 2 Rue de Pichey – 33170 GRADIGNAN, FRANCE

 

Situated in a large park, 10km from Bordeaux, the Château De Moulerens offers a favorable place for practice, study and live. Student with full board get individual rooms with private bath, three meals a day, access to a gym, tennis court, soccer field, and an Olympic swimming pool. 

Minors (-18) are supervised by a team of professional counselors.

PRATICAL DETAILS 

 

ARRIVAL :

A BUS will be available from the main train station : Saint-Jean de Bordeaux July 19, 2026 at 15:15. The bus will leave from the station around 15:15. Please send us your departure and arrival information no later than June 20, 2026.

Students arriving by AIR will be greeted at the airport by our team and taken by car.

If you arrive by CAR, please let us know by email when you plan to arrive. Students will receive an email with the hosts’ contacts.

DEPARTURE :

A bus will leave Moulerens for the Saint-Jean train station in Bordeaux on July 26 2026 at 9:30 am – plan to pick up train tickets at 11 am. Students leaving by plane will be accompanied to the airport by our volunteers in private cars.

 

ACCOMODATIONS : 

Double and /or single room.
Simple, welcoming and comfortable rooms with views of the forest. You will find a complete comfort : the rooms are all equipped with private showers and toilets, bedding furniture, a wardrobe, a desk and a flat-screen TV.

Bedding is provided but students are asked to make their beds. Bring a toilet bag and towel. On the day of departure the linen must be placed in the trolleys provided for this purpose.

Self-Service Restoration. Three meals a day.

* Room keys that are not returned will incur a fee of 30€. Please keep the rooms clean and respectful of the staff in charge of receiving the rooms. A fee of 50€ may occur for additional cleaning service if deemed necessary by the staff.

INSURANCE :

Students must be fully covered by insurance, including health and instrument insurance.

OTHER DETAILS :

Each student must bring a music stand, scores, and concert attire (black pants or skirt, black shoes, white shirt).
