Violon / Violin
Cecilia Bercovich was born in Madrid into a family of musicians. She is a violinist and violist, and plays as a soloist and chamber musician in various musical groups in Spain and Europe. Her other interests include composition and conducting.
Trained by her father Victor Bercovich, she later graduated as a violinist and violist at Musikene (Superior Conservatory of St. Sebastian, Spain) in the classes of Natalia Tchitch and Keiko Wataya. She also received guidance from Isaac Stern, Itzhak Perlman, Nobuko Imai and Ilya Grubert.
Passionate and committed to the artistic creation, Cecilia is regularly commissioned and arranged for various instrumental ensembles. She has had the opportunity to play under the direction of masters such as P. Boulez, H. Holliger, R. Chailly, K. Penderecki, P. Eötvös or M. Pintscher in the framework of numerous festivals (Lucerne, Salzburg MITO or Bayreuth). In recent years she has performed with Meitar Ensemble in Tel Aviv, Variances in Paris, Quantum in Tenerife.
Passionate about teaching, Cecilia teaches violin, viola, chamber music and orchestra at the Katarina Gurska Higher Music Center (Madrid) and the Higher Music Center of Aragon (Zaragoza).
Among her most recent musical activities, we can mention her collaboration as solo violin in the Orchestra of Navarra, a recital with Miguel Ituarte on the works of Joaquín Rodrigo at the prestigious Juan March Foundation and numerous recording projects.
