Disciple de l’école Stolarski-Oïstrakh, Zacharia Zorin a bénéficié d’une formation exceptionnelle : Ecole Piotr Stolarski, Conservatoire Supérieur d’Odessa, Institut Gnessine de Moscou. Concertiste, chambriste et chef d’orchestre, Zacharia est aussi titulaire d’un doctorat en pédagogie musicale. Il a débuté sa carrière en ex-URSS comme soliste à l’agence Mosconcert. Il a aussi dirigé l’Orchestre de Chambre d’Odessa et a été professeur de violon au Conservatoire Supérieur de Novossibirsk.

Alors que son activité musicale est en plein essor, Zorin décide de quitter l’URSS pour raisons politiques. Déchu de sa citoyenneté soviétique, Zorin s’installe en Israël et y poursuit son parcours international en qualité de soliste au sein de diverses formations prestigieuses : l’ensemble des Solistes de Jérusalem, l’Orchestre Kol-Israël, et l’Orchestre Philharmonique d’Israël avec lequel il se produira aux quatre coins du monde sous la baguette des plus grands chefs du XXème siècle : Metha, Bernstein, Solti, Barenboïm, Abado… Inspiré par ses amis solistes de cet orchestre légendaire, il fonde le « Zorin Quatuor ». Invité en France en 1980, il devient super-soliste de l’Orchestre National de Bordeaux, sans interrompre sa carrière de soliste. Sollicité par les compositeurs contemporains, il interprète avec l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France le Concerto pour violon et orchestre de J. Dorfman qui lui est dédié (création mondiale). L’avènement de la Perestroïka lui donne l’occasion de revenir dans son pays natal pour y donner une tournée triomphale en 1989.

Depuis ses premiers pas sur la scène professionnelle à l’âge de dix ans, Zacharia Zorin a interprété la quasi-totalité du répertoire violonistique, avec les orchestres symphoniques et en récital, sur les cinq continents. Soucieux de partager son expérience riche et diverse avec de jeunes musiciens en France, Zorin fonde l’Institut Professionnel du Violon de Bordeaux et dirige les Rencontres Internationales des Graves, synthèse heureuse de ses passions pour la scène et la pédagogie.

A disciple of the Stolarski-Oïstrakh school, Zacharia Zorin benefited from an exceptional training: Piotr Stolarski School, Odessa Superior Conservatory, Gnessine Institute in Moscow. Zacharia Zorin is a concert pianist, chamber musician and conductor, and holds a doctorate in music pedagogy. He began his career in the former USSR as a soloist with the Mosconcert Agency. He also conducted the Odessa Chamber Orchestra and was a professor of violin at the Novosibirsk Higher Conservatory.

While his musical activity was booming, Zorin decided to leave the USSR for political reasons. After losing his Soviet citizenship, Zorin moved to Israel where he continued his international career as a soloist with various prestigious ensembles: The Jerusalem Soloists, the Kol-Israel Orchestra, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he performed all over the world under the baton of the greatest conductors of the 20th century: Metha, Bernstein, Solti, Barenboim, Abado… Inspired by his soloist friends in this legendary orchestra, he founded the “Zorin Quartet”. Invited to France in 1980, he became super-soloist of the Orchestre National de Bordeaux, without interrupting his solo career. Solicited by contemporary composers, he performs with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France the Concerto for violin and orchestra by J. Dorfman, which is dedicated to him (world premiere). The advent of Perestroika gave him the opportunity to return to his native country for a triumphant tour in 1989.

Since his first steps on the professional stage at the age of ten, Zacharia Zorin has performed almost the entire violin repertoire, with symphony orchestras and in recital, on all five continents. Eager to share his rich and diverse experience with young musicians in France, Zorin founded the Bordeaux Professional Violin Institute and directs the Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves, a happy synthesis of his passions for the stage and pedagogy.
