Il débute le violoncelle à l’âge de 7 ans avec Isabelle Loubaresse au Conservatoire de Rouen. Après trois années au CRR de Paris dans la classe d’Hélène Dautry il poursuit ses études au conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris dans la classe de Jérôme Pernoo. Au sein de l’académie Jaroussky, Léo bénéficie des conseils d’Anne Gastinel. Il a reçu des conseils auprès de maîtres, comme Frans Helmerson, Sol Gabetta, Julian Steckel, Christophe Coin, le quatuor Ébène.
Léo Ispir s’est produit en soliste avec différents orchestres, tels que l’orchestre Appassionato, le Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, l’ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, le Pauliner Barokensemble; il a par ailleurs eu de nombreux partenaires en musique de chambre — le quatuor Modigliani, Gautier Capuçon, Augustin Dumay, Claire Désert, Franck Braley, Lucas Debargue, Raphaël Pidoux, Emmanuel Strosser, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Anne Gastinel. Léo s’est produit, notamment, au Georges Enescu festival, aux Folles Journées de Nantes, aux Flâneries musicales de Reims, au Schiermonnikoog Festival, et au festival Ravel.
Léo Ispir est depuis 2023 lauréat de la Fondation Gautier Capuçon grâce à laquelle il enregistrera en 2024 un album en duo avec son frère violoniste Luka Ispir, sous le label Warner Classics/Erato.
En janvier 2025 les frères Ispir enregistreront un album accompagné par le ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien dirigé par Howard Griffiths. Il est membre de l’octuor Cello8 avec lequel il a enregistré un album Ode à la nuit sous le label Mirare.
Passionné de musique ancienne, Léo étudie également la viole de gambe dans la classe de Philippe Pierlot au conservatoire de Bruxelles. Il joue sur un violoncelle de Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume prêté généreusement par Michael Guttman.
Luka Ispir, violon
Âgé de 5 ans, il commence le violon au CRR de Rouen. Après deux ans passés au CRR de Boulogne Billancourt avec Christophe Poiget, il est admis à l’âge de 16 ans au conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris auprès d’Olivier Charlier. Il poursuit ses études musicales au sein de l’école Hanns Eisler à Berlin dans la classe de Stephan Picard avant de parfaire sa formation en tant qu’artiste en résidence à la Chapelle musicale Reine Élisabeth avec Augustin Dumay, en master à la Haute École de Lausanne avec Renaud Capuçon ainsi qu’en perfectionnement à l’académie Perosi avec Silvia Marcovici.
Chambriste recherché, il participe à la formation du Philia Trio avec lequel il se produira dans de nombreux festivals en France et à l’étranger. Luka est régulièrement invité en tant que soliste, et s’est produit avec les orchestres de Normandie, Appassionato, Bilkent Symphony, de la Nouvelle Europe, l’orchestre

Léo began playing the cello at the age of seven with Isabelle Loubaresse at the Conservatory of Rouen. After three years at the CRR of Paris in Hélène Dautry’s class, he continued his studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris with Jérôme Pernoo. As part of the Jaroussky Academy, Léo benefited from the guidance of Anne Gastinel. He also received advice from masters such as Frans Helmerson, Sol Gabetta, Julian Steckel, Christophe Coin, and the Ébène Quartet.
Léo Ispir has performed as a soloist with various orchestras, including Orchestre Appassionato, the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, and the Pauliner Barokensemble. He has also collaborated in chamber music with the Modigliani Quartet, Gautier Capuçon, Augustin Dumay, Claire Désert, Franck Braley, Lucas Debargue, Raphaël Pidoux, Emmanuel Strosser, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, and Anne Gastinel. His performances have taken him to festivals such as the Georges Enescu Festival, Les Folles Journées de Nantes, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims, the Schiermonnikoog Festival, and the Ravel Festival.
Since 2023, Léo has been a laureate of the Gautier Capuçon Foundation, through which he will record a duo album with his violinist brother, Luka Ispir, under the Warner Classics/Erato label in 2024.
In January 2025, the Ispir brothers will record an album with the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, conducted by Howard Griffiths. Léo is also a member of the Cello8 octet, with whom he recorded the album Ode à la Nuit under the Mirare label.
Passionate about early music, Léo also studies the viola da gamba in Philippe Pierlot’s class at the Brussels Conservatory. He plays a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume cello, generously loaned by Michael Guttman.
Luka Ispir, violin
Luka started playing the violin at the age of five at the CRR of Rouen. After two years at the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt with Christophe Poiget, he was admitted at the age of sixteen to the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, studying with Olivier Charlier. He continued his musical studies at the Hanns Eisler School in Berlin under Stephan Picard, then refined his artistry as a resident artist at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Élisabeth with Augustin Dumay, pursued a master’s degree at the Haute École de Lausanne with Renaud Capuçon, and further honed his skills at the Perosi Academy with Silvia Marcovici.
A sought-after chamber musician, Luka is a founding member of the Philia Trio, with whom he will perform at numerous festivals in France and abroad. Luka is also regularly invited as a soloist and has performed with orchestras such as the Normandy Orchestra, Orchestre Appassionato, the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, and La Nouvelle Europe Orchestra.
