Guillaume Hodeau
studied music at the Marseille Conservatory, where he earned a first prize in accordion at the age of 15. He was then admitted to the prestigious University of Detroit-Michigan in the United States, where he pursued higher education for three years and performed at numerous festivals, notably in Columbus, Cleveland, and Detroit. Passionate about the bandoneon, he joined Juan Jose Mosalini’s class in 2000, learning the closely guarded secrets of tango. Thanks to the invaluable guidance of the Argentine master, Guillaume distinguished himself in several international competitions, winning the Piazzolla Music Award in Italy.
Invited to perform on some of Europe’s most prestigious stages, Guillaume Hodeau presents diverse programs as a soloist, both in contemporary creations and at classical or world music festivals. A versatile musician, he has played at Milan’s Blue Note Jazz Club, the Royal Theater of Namur, the Virtuosi Festival in Recife, Brazil, the Abbaye de l’Épau, IRCAM, and more. He has also performed with the Colonne Orchestra, the Stringendo Ensemble, and the Aarhus Sinfonietta in Denmark.
The initiator of numerous artistic projects, he has recorded two albums dedicated to Astor Piazzolla for the Aeon/Harmonia Mundi label, as well as a duo album with saxophonist Ronan Baudry in a program titled Tango at Night, following a tour of 250 concerts. Among his more recent projects, he recorded a CD with cellist David Louwerse in 2016, featuring the Barocco Tango program.
In 2016, he participated in the creation of the opera L’Ombre de Venceslao by Martin Matalon, directed by Jorge Lavelli. A two-year tour was planned across opera houses in Rennes, Avignon, Toulouse, Montpellier, Marseille, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulon, Reims, and Bordeaux. Martin Matalon was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique award for this opera in 2017.
Passionate about teaching, Guillaume teaches accordion at the Regional Conservatory of Cergy-Pontoise and bandoneon at the Évreux Conservatory. In 2011, he created the educational collection Le Petit Accordéoniste with the aim of modernizing the learning of the instrument.
French Cellist of many talents, David Louwerse is passionate about every form of musical creation. Recipient of several first prizes from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Paris and of the Lugy G. Moses Fellowship Awards from the Yale School of Music, he is currently lead cellist of the l’Ensemble Variances under the direction of composer Thierry Pécou.
He regularly performs with violinists Virginie Robilliard and Liana Gourdjia, violists Vinciane Béranger and Cecilia Bercovitch, cellist Caroline Tref, double bassist Laurène Durantel, pianists François Daudet, Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter, Sabina Stanojevic, and Thierry Pécou, as well as saxophonist Nicolas Prost, clarinettist Carjez Gerresten and flutist Anne Cartel.
He’s also playing and recording with bandoneonist Guillaume Hodeau in a Barocco-Tango series of concerts revisiting baroque and tango pieces.

He is also artistic director of the Festival Ault en Musiques ! programmed the first week-end of July each year in the au Baie de Somme in northern France.
Renaud Bary
is a passionate musician, seamlessly alternating between rehearsals with the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine, Argentine tango concerts, and contemporary music performances.
He began playing the double bass in 2008 after attending a concert by the Garde Républicaine, deeply moved by the sound of the instrument. He soon entered the CNSM of Paris in Thierry Barbé’s class, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with prestigious ensembles such as the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Ensemble Intercontemporain.
In his third year, he became a soloist with the Orchestre Lamoureux, and the following year, he joined the prestigious academy of the Opéra National de Paris. After earning his master’s degree, he became a soloist with the OLC and later passed the competitive entrance exam for the Garde Républicaine.
Renaud also performs in world music concerts, accompanying renowned tango artists such as Gustavo Beytelmann and Max Bonnay, as well as in chamber music alongside musicians like the Trio Wanderer, Claire Désert, and Emmanuel Strosser.
